Head of Grounds Maintenance

As a nationwide market leader in their field this client are going from strength to strength. Innovation and excellence are at the forefront of what our client believes in and as a result of recent expansion we are recruiting for a Head of Grounds Maintenance Operator for their new, purpose-built crematorium in Kidlington.

This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week and reporting into the Memorial Park manager.

The main objective of this role is to assist in the provision of a dignified, respectful and memorable service to members of the public. Your duties will include but will not be limited to;

• Mowing of all lawns in the Formal Gardens including pruning rose beds, laying turf, planting of new trees, grass seeding, grass cutting, maintain floral displays
• Leaf clearing using various tools and machinery including leaf blowers to ensure paths are always clear and beds are tidy
• Meticulous maintenance of all allocated machinery, maintaining regular services- keeping full records
• Car parking duties when required for busy periods
• Assist with duties in the chapel such as cleaning and preparation of the flower rooms and service areas for the general public
• Attend public services and act as a pall bearer at such services when required
• Upkeep of all administration duties relating to the chapel and other facilities
• You will also receive full training in relation to the above and will be expected to work within the company guidelines to maintain company standards
• In carrying out the different functions to be performed, clothing of the appropriate type must always be worn.
• Ensure the collection, identification, storage and disposal of cremated remains in the Garden of Remembrance and is maintained correctly and documented.
• Any other duties of a similar nature within the crematorium that may be reasonably requested by the Manager. This will also include any administration and use of the companies IT system.

You will be a discreet person who has a great respect for your surroundings, maintaining a pro-active and motivated professional attitude towards your work at all times. You will take complete pride in everything you do ensuring all tasks are carried out to the very highest of standards. Hours of work are based on a 40hour week, although you will be required to work flexible hours due to the nature of this business.
